Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to solicit quotations for the painting and flooring maintenance of Building 04 at CSIR Scientia Campus, ensuring the completion of specified renovation tasks with quality workmanship and adherence to safety and technical standards.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Carpet replacement with specified carpet tiles.
• Interior and exterior painting, including surface preparation, removal of loose materials, and application of specified paints with warranties.
• Restoration of window frames, glass replacement, wood panel repair, and door varnishing.
• Disposal of old materials at approved landfill sites.
• Provision of safety files and site clearance post-completion.

Detailed tasks are outlined in Annexure A, including specific standards for surface preparation, painting, carpentry, and waste disposal.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Use of specified paint types (e.g., Plascon, Micatex) with color codes.
• Surface preparation involving cleaning, sanding (100 grit, 180-220 grit), and rust removal using approved methods.
• Application of primer and multiple coats of paint to ensure durability and aesthetic finish.
• Replacement of broken windows with specified dimensions and installation standards.
• Carpet tiles installation adhering to manufacturer specifications.
• Woodwork sanding, filling, and varnishing to match existing wood grain and finish.
• Provision of warranties: minimum 12 months workmanship guarantee and manufacturer warranties.
• Compliance with safety, health, environment, and quality standards, including submission of safety files approved by CSIR SHEQ.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in painting, flooring, carpentry, and related renovation works within the last five years.
• Technical capability to perform surface preparation, painting, carpentry, and glass replacement according to specified standards.
• Ability to prepare and submit technical datasheets, including guarantees of at least seven years for painting products.
• Compliance with CIDB registration requirements (minimum grade 1GB or higher) or capability to register prior to contract award.
• Provision of relevant safety, health, and environmental management documentation.
• Capacity to manage waste disposal and site clearance professionally.
• Ability to provide references demonstrating quality, time, and cost management in similar projects.
