Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the painting, removal, and installation of carpet flooring on the 3rd floor of Building 2A at the CSIR. The aim is to upgrade and refurbish the specified area with quality workmanship, ensuring proper installation and finishing, along with wall painting and skirting varnishing, supported by warranties and safe waste disposal certificates.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Removal of existing carpets and disposal at an approved landfill.
• Preparation of subfloor and installation of new carpets (Belgotex or equivalent, Boost Strength, 75mm thick).
• Cleaning and preparing walls, filling cracks and holes, and applying two coats of high-quality interior paint (e.g., Plascon Double Velvet).
• Preparation and sanding of wooden skirting boards, followed by at least two coats of varnish with light sanding between coats.
• Conducting a joint walkthrough to identify defects, ensuring site cleanliness, and providing warranties for workmanship and materials.
• Provision of certificates for safe waste disposal.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Use of approved carpet materials (Belgotex or equivalent, Boost Strength, 75mm).
• Wall preparation involving crack filling, sanding, and painting with specified high-quality interior paint.
• Skirting preparation involving sanding and varnishing with at least two coats of high-quality varnish.
• Adherence to manufacturer specifications for carpet installation, ensuring seamless seams and neat edges.
• Site preparation, masking, and protection during painting and varnishing.
• Compliance with safety, waste disposal, and warranty standards.

Skills Requirements

The bidder must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in carpet removal, installation, and interior wall painting, with relevant completion certificates from the last five years (2021–2026).
• Registration with the CIDB at a minimum level of 1GB or higher, or capability to register prior to submission.
• Capability to prepare and execute the scope of work as specified, including proper site handling, masking, and finishing.
• Ability to provide warranties for workmanship (minimum 12 months) and manufacturer warranties for materials.
• Compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, including safe waste disposal.
• Capacity to submit all required documentation, including bid forms, preference points, and non-disclosure agreements.
