Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the removal and installation of carpets at Building 02A at CSIR Scientia Campus, ensuring a high-quality finish, compliance with safety standards, and environmental regulations. The work aims to upgrade the flooring to improve the facility's aesthetics and functionality, with warranties and proper disposal of waste materials.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Removal of existing carpets, underlay, and debris.
• Preparation of subfloor, including cleaning, levelling, patching, and repairing any damage.
• Supply and installation of new high-quality carpets (Belgotex or equivalent, Boost Strength).
• Sealing seams, tucking carpets into skirting, and finishing at doorways and walls.
• Installation of transition strips and finishing touches.
• Site cleanup, including disposal of old materials in accordance with environmental regulations.
• Provision of warranties for workmanship (minimum 12 months) and manufacturer warranties.
• Submission of safety documentation and certificates confirming waste disposal.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify:

• Adherence to manufacturer guidelines and relevant standards during installation.
• Use of high-quality carpets (Belgotex or equivalent, Boost Strength).
• Proper preparation of substrates to ensure a smooth, level, and dry surface.
• Careful removal of old flooring and debris, with site restoration to original condition.
• Compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act, including submission of a safety plan and PPE usage.
• Proper disposal of waste materials, with certificates of disposal provided.
• Final inspection and sign-off with the project manager.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in carpet removal and installation projects, with at least two references for similar work completed between 2020 and 2026.
• Valid CIDB registration of at least 1GB or higher, or CRS number.
• Capability to prepare and execute the scope of work safely and efficiently.
• Qualified personnel trained in flooring installation and safety procedures.
• Ability to provide warranties and necessary documentation, including environmental compliance certificates.
• Competence in site cleanup, waste disposal, and final quality assurance.
