Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a competent service provider to remove, dispose of asbestos roof sheets, and replace them with corrugated IBR roof sheets on village houses at Jessievale Plantation. The aim is to eliminate health hazards associated with asbestos roofing by replacing it with non-hazardous materials, ensuring safety and compliance with asbestos abatement regulations.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Removal and disposal of asbestos roof sheets on village houses located at Jessievale Plantation.
• Supply of all necessary resources and installation of new corrugated roof sheets (IBR sheets).
• Installation of purlins, sisalation, roof ridges, and closures as specified.
• Beam filling external and internal walls, including plastering and painting to match existing structures.
• Completion of the work within one calendar month, with inspections and sign-offs at each stage.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Use of registered asbestos handling contractors for removal and disposal.
• Removal and disposal of asbestos sheets at designated asbestos disposal sites.
• Supply and installation of 0.6mm thick galvanized IBR roof sheets, 3.8m long, secured on existing rafters and purlins.
• Supply and installation of 75mm x 50mm CCA treated timber purlins, sisalation, roof ridges, and closures.
• Beam filling and plastering of external and internal walls, including painting to match existing finishes.
• Inspection and approval of materials before installation, with scheduled inspections during the work process.
• Completion within 1 month, with payments based on individual sign-offs of completed structures.

Skills Requirements

The successful service provider must possess:

• Registration with relevant authorities for asbestos handling and disposal.
• Proven experience in asbestos removal, disposal, and roofing installation.
• Capability to supply and install galvanized corrugated roof sheets, purlins, and related roofing materials.
• Skills in wall beam filling, plastering, and painting to ensure aesthetic and structural integrity.
• Ability to coordinate site activities, ensure safety compliance, and adhere to project timelines.
• Provision of all necessary resources, including tools, equipment, and personnel trained in asbestos safety protocols.
