Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to secure a qualified contractor to provide repair services for spill basins at Transnet Pipelines' Rustenburg bunded areas. The goal is to ensure the integrity, safety, and environmental compliance of the spill containment infrastructure through professional repairs, waterproofing, crack sealing, and related works.

Scope

The scope of work includes, but is not limited to:

• Site preparation and thorough cleaning of spill basins and walls.
• Installation of waterproofing membranes and sealants.
• Crack injection and repair using low viscosity resins.
• Application of cementitious waterproofing slurry on floors and walls.
• Structural repairs with epoxy mortar where necessary.
• Provision of safety, environmental, and risk management measures during execution.
• Preparation of method statements, risk assessments, and environmental management plans.
• Completion of all works within the specified timeframe and quality standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Demonstrated experience in concrete repairs, waterproofing, and crack sealing.
• Professional registration of key personnel with ECSA (Pr. Civil Engineering Technician).
• CIDB grading of at least 3CE or higher, or equivalent recognition.
• Provision of detailed method statements outlining procedures, quality control, environmental management, and safety protocols.
• Implementation of risk management and safety measures, including PPE, emergency procedures, and hazardous material handling.
• Compliance with all relevant standards, regulations, and Transnet specifications.
• Submission of all required returnable documents, including experience, CVs, certificates, and legal compliance.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must possess:

• Qualified Civil Engineering Technicians with experience in concrete and waterproofing works.
• Construction supervisors with minimum N5 qualification in Civil Engineering and proven experience in concrete repairs.
• Health and Safety Officers registered with SACPCMP.
• Project management personnel with relevant experience in infrastructure repairs and waterproofing.
• Ability to develop comprehensive method statements and safety plans.
• Proficiency in environmental management and risk mitigation.
• Technical capability to execute repairs adhering to quality standards and safety regulations.
