Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified service provider to supply, deliver, and off-load various cleaning and agricultural products, including degreaser intensive cleaning liquid, glyphosate herbicide (Roundup Weed Killer), ethylene gas drums, platform brooms, Jeyes Fluid, and precut line for the Ekurhuleni Fresh Produce Market. The procurement aims to ensure the continuous availability of these items on an as-and-when-required basis until 30 June 2026, within a total budget of R750,000 including VAT.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply, delivery, and off-loading of the following items:

• Degreaser Intensive Cleaning Liquid in 25L drums
• Roundup Weed Killer (Glyphosate Herbicide) in 20L containers
• 200L drums of Ethylene Gas (4 drums)
• Platform Brooms (100 units)
• Jeyes Fluid Original in 5L bottles (25 units)
• Precutted Line (3.5mm, 22cm, 100 units)

The supply is required on an as-and-when basis for the Ekurhuleni Fresh Produce Market, with a maximum transaction value of R750,000 including VAT, until 30 June 2026.

Technical Requirements

• Degreaser must be a water-soluble formulation with pH between 12.0 and 12.4, containing phosphate builders, synthetic wetting agents, butoxyethanol, and inorganic metal corrosion inhibitors suitable for iron and mild steel. It must comply with SANS 1344 and SANS 1828, be biodegradable, and free of ammonia, caustic substances, and abrasives. It should have a shelf life of at least 1 year at 24°C, withstand freeze/thaw cycles, and be approved by SABS.
• Roundup Weed Killer must be a soluble concentrate non-selective foliar herbicide, safe for aquatic use, capable of controlling a wide range of weeds and grasses, including those resistant to glyphosate.
• Ethylene Gas drums must be 200L each, suitable for agricultural use.
• Platform Brooms should have a head width of approximately 450mm, with bristles made of PET, PVC, or Coco fiber, and a handle length of 1.2-1.3 meters. They must be heavy-duty and durable for daily commercial use.
• Jeyes Fluid must be a concentrated disinfectant suitable for outdoor drains and waste pipes, to be diluted as per instructions.
• Precutted line must be 3.5mm thick, 22cm long, suitable for professional-grade cutting equipment.

Skills and Skills Requirements

• Proven experience in supplying and delivering industrial cleaning chemicals and agricultural products, supported by reference letters from previous clients.
• Adequate logistical capacity, including ownership or leasing of delivery vehicles and equipment, to ensure timely delivery and off-loading.
• Qualified personnel, including at least one driver with a valid driver’s license, capable of handling and off-loading the specified products safely and efficiently.
• Compliance with all legislative and safety standards, including SABS approval for chemical products, and adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Financial capacity to sustain supply and delivery operations, demonstrated through bank statements, credit facilities, or funding confirmation from recognized financial institutions.
• Knowledge of relevant standards such as SANS 1344 and SANS 1828 for chemical products, and experience in working with municipal or government procurement processes.
