Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure reusable bayonet monopolar diathmy forceps, including insulated serrated and bipolar forceps, along with bipolar cords, to be used at Grey's Hospital. The aim is to ensure the supply of quality surgical instruments that meet specified standards for medical procedures, particularly for plastics and paediatric patients.

Scope

The scope encompasses the supply of the following items:

• Reusable bayonet monopolar diathmy forceps, insulated, serrated, 13.3cm length, 1.5mm tip, 5.4cm
• Reusable straight bipolar diathmy forceps, 10.2cm length, insulated, 0.4mm tip
• Bipolar cords, 3.6m (12 inch), disposable, sterile, clear

The items are intended for use in surgical procedures at Grey's Hospital, with specifications attached and subject to evaluation for compliance and quality standards.

Technical Requirements

• Items must conform to the specifications detailed in the annexure, including size, material, and insulation standards.
• Forceps must be reusable, sterilizable, and meet the specified length, tip size, and serration features.
• Bipolar cords must be sterile, disposable, and of the specified length and material.
• All items must comply with relevant medical standards and be approved for surgical use.
• Samples must be submitted for evaluation, and only compliant samples will be considered for award.
• Suppliers must provide valid licenses issued by the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) for manufacturing, importing, or distributing medical devices.

Skills Requirements

• Proven experience in supplying medical surgical instruments, particularly diathmy forceps and related accessories.
• Knowledge of medical device standards, sterilization processes, and quality assurance protocols.
• Ability to provide technical documentation, compliance certificates, and samples for evaluation.
• Capacity to meet delivery timelines and provide after-sales support, including warranty and technical assistance.
• Competence in adhering to regulatory requirements and procurement policies, including preference points and declaration of interest.
