Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to secure plant hiring services for the transportation of heavy-duty vehicles within the municipal boundaries of Prince Albert. The services aim to facilitate the movement of municipal heavy vehicles, including specific types such as front-end loaders, tipper trucks, and bulldozers, to support municipal operations and landfill site activities.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Provision of plant hiring services for transporting heavy-duty vehicles within the Prince Albert municipal area and landfill sites.
• Transportation of various heavy equipment including front-end loaders, tractor-loaders-backhoes (TLB), tipper trucks, and bulldozers.
• Transportation services between Prince Albert and Leeu-Gamka, as well as Klaarstroom, including return trips.
• Services to be rendered as and when required, with specific reference to emergency works and scheduled transportation needs.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Heavy-duty vehicles with operating mass not less than 17,000 kg.
• Vehicles equipped with backhoe buckets of less than 0.18m³ and loader buckets of at least 0.9m³.
• Driving axles with GVM steel tipper load bodies measuring approximately 4,200mm x 2,600mm x 990mm.
• Provision of valid licenses, certificates, and permits required for transportation activities.
• Proof of insurance cover of R 5,000,000.00 per claim, to cover liabilities arising from damages or accidents.
• Availability of certified copies of relevant operational documents, vehicle registration, and lease agreements if applicable.

Skills and Skills Requirements

• Qualified operators with appropriate licenses and certifications to operate heavy-duty vehicles and plant equipment.
• Experience in transporting municipal heavy vehicles and machinery within specified routes and terrains.
• Ability to adhere to safety standards and municipal regulations during transportation and loading activities.
• Competence in providing necessary documentation, including vehicle licenses, permits, and insurance certificates.
• Capacity to respond promptly to emergency transportation requests and scheduled service needs.
