Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to engage a service provider to conduct four monthly inspections of fire equipment at SANPC Saldanha Terminal, Transfer Station, OV2, and the Oil Jetty. The inspections aim to ensure the fire safety equipment is maintained in proper working condition, compliant with safety standards, and ready for emergency use.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Performing four monthly inspections of specified fire safety equipment, including fire extinguishers, hydrants, monitors, fire hose reels, sprinkler systems, foam units, and other related fire safety devices.
• Providing and installing inspection stickers/labels and plastic seals for fire extinguisher boxes.
• Submitting detailed inspection reports upon completion of each inspection.

The equipment to be inspected comprises:

• 204 fire extinguishers
• 5 fire hydrants
• 7 cross fire-ground monitors
• 4 oscillating monitors
• 5 overhanging pourers
• 2 Titan ground monitors
• 3 fire hose reels
• 1 sprinkler system at flare
• 7 Hydrostream monitors
• 7 foam units (120 FP 70)

Technical Requirements

The service provider must:

• Supply and affix inspection stickers/labels and seals for fire extinguisher boxes.
• Provide comprehensive inspection reports after each inspection.
• Ensure inspections are conducted in accordance with relevant safety standards and regulations.
• Submit all required documentation, including inspection reports and labels, in a timely manner.

Additionally, the provider must:

• Ensure all equipment is inspected thoroughly and accurately.
• Use approved and certified inspection stickers and seals.
• Maintain safety and compliance throughout the inspection process.

Skills Requirements

• Qualified fire safety technicians with relevant certifications and experience in fire equipment inspection and maintenance.
• Knowledge of fire safety standards, regulations, and best practices.
• Ability to accurately complete inspection reports and documentation.
• Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
• Effective communication skills for reporting and documentation purposes.
