Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to engage a qualified service provider to perform major servicing and oil changes on twelve transformers at SANPC's Milnerton facility. The work includes repairing oil leaks on specified transformers, ensuring compliance with electrical and occupational health and safety regulations, and maintaining transformer integrity and performance.

Scope

The scope of work encompasses:

• Conducting major service and oil change on 12 transformers of various sizes (9x 25Kva, 2x 100Kva, 1x 300Kva).
• Repairing oil leaks on designated transformers, specifically on a 300Kva and a 25Kva transformer.
• Performing liquid level checks, oil testing, and silica gel replacement.
• Replacing gauge glasses and breather oil.
• Re-torqueing MV and LV bushes.
• Cleaning transformers and applying Denso-Tape, followed by proper labeling in accordance with electrical standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Use of recommended transformer oil, such as BP Energol JS-A or similar, ensuring compatibility with IEC transformer guidelines.
• Adherence to electrical regulations and occupational health and safety mandates during all operations.
• Inspection and repair of oil leaks, with reference to attached photographs indicating leak extent and type.
• Replacement of components such as gauge glasses and breather oil, and ensuring proper torqueing of bushes.
• Cleaning and labeling transformers according to electrical standards.

Skills and Requirements

The tenderer must meet the following criteria:

• Be registered as a three-phase electrical contractor with the Department of Labour.
• Possess relevant experience in transformer servicing, oil testing, and leak repairs.
• Participate in a mandatory site visit prior to submission.
• Demonstrate technical capability to perform oil changes, leak repairs, and compliance with safety standards.
