Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a panel of qualified service providers to supply copper, brass, and aluminium materials to the South African Radio Astronomy Observatory (SARAO) at the Hartebeesthoek Radio Astronomy Observatory site in Gauteng. The appointed suppliers will provide these materials over a period of 24 months, supporting SARAO's ongoing projects and machining tasks involving these metals.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Provision of copper, brass, and aluminium materials in specified sizes and specifications for SARAO's use.
• Appointing up to three qualifying suppliers through a purchase agreement valid for 2 years, with subsequent purchases made as needed.
• Suppliers may quote on various sizes and measurements, not necessarily exact, but must specify these for fair price comparison.
• The materials will be used in machining and other technical tasks at SARAO's facilities.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Suppliers must have been operating in the metal supply industry for more than 5 years.
• Stock availability and datasheets for supplied products must be provided.
• Suppliers must have premises in Gauteng or North West Province for verification of facilities.
• Materials supplied must meet specified quality and datasheet standards.
• Compliance with functional and quality criteria as evaluated during the selection process.

Skills Requirements
