Objectives

The primary objective is to restore reliable water supply functionality at Crocodile Dam 2 by extracting and replacing a non-operational borehole pump. The project aims to deliver a fully commissioned, safe, and compliant pumping system that meets municipal infrastructure standards while minimising environmental impact and operational disruption.

Scope of Work

• Extract the existing non-functional borehole pump using supplier-provided tools and equipment.
• Supply and install a new 7.5kW electrical borehole pump complete with all necessary accessories.
• Replace the existing pump house with a new lockable steel structure.
• Reroute the power supply cable to accommodate the new installation.
• Replace the mechanical water flow meter.
• Conduct full installation, testing, and commissioning of the borehole system.
• Provide all labour, materials, consumables, and specialised extraction tools.
• Attend a compulsory site meeting prior to quotation submission.
• Maintain strict site housekeeping, adhere to safety protocols, submit a comprehensive safety file, and sign a permit-to-work before commencing operations.

Technical Requirements

• Pump specification: 7.5kW electrical motor with full accessory kit.
• Steel pump house must be lockable and suitable for outdoor municipal use.
• Accurate on-site measurements are mandatory; quotations must reflect actual site conditions and cannot be altered post-submission without formal bidder-signed amendments.
• All work must comply with municipal security, access, and environmental guidelines.
• Contractors must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including reflective vests, due to potential exposure to wastewater during inspection and maintenance.
