Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for cutting trees under Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) lines at R/bay-by, ensuring safety clearances and proper removal of cleared trees. The work aims to maintain safe and reliable electrical infrastructure by clearing vegetation that poses risks to the lines.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Tree cutting along approximately 30 km of MV lines and over 80 km of LV lines in Mandlanzini, Brackenham, and Nseleni areas.
• Cutting trees close to MV lines with a clearance of 5 meters from the 11kV line.
• Complete clearance of all trees under the 11kV lines.
• Clearing trees on LV lines about 4 meters away from conductors.
• Removing all cleared trees to designated dumping sites.
• Maintaining safety clearance on the 11kV lines, switching off lines if clearance cannot be maintained for safety reasons.
• Using approved tools and adhering to safety protocols during the work.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify that:

• The contractor must cut trees near MV and LV lines as specified.
• Safety clearance of 5 meters from 11kV lines must be maintained.
• All trees under the 11kV line must be fully cleared.
• Trees on LV lines should be cleared about 4 meters from conductors.
• Cleared trees must be removed and transported to designated dumping sites.
• Safety protocols must be followed, including switching off lines where clearance cannot be maintained.
• Approved tools must be used for cutting and clearance activities.

Skills Requirements
