Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure assessment services for diesel mechanic candidates to determine their readiness for the trade test. The assessments aim to provide the Municipality with detailed reports indicating whether candidates require further training, the topics to be covered, and the duration of such training.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Conducting assessments on four diesel mechanic candidates to evaluate their readiness for the trade test.
• Providing assessment reports for each candidate, highlighting areas requiring pre-trade test training.
• Carrying out assessments through theory, practical, and interview methods over a two-day period.
• Issuing certificates of attendance where applicable.
• Assisting with Portfolio of Evidence (POEs) submission if required.
• Submitting assessor registration numbers and facilitator CVs.
• Ensuring compliance with SETA accreditation and delivering training at designated premises in KZN.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the service provider include:

• Conduct assessments based on relevant standards, though specific unit standards and NQF levels are not specified (N/A).
• Assess candidates using a combination of theory, practical exercises, and interviews.
• Provide assessment reports detailing candidate readiness, training topics, and duration.
• Deliver assessments at the provider’s premises in KZN.

• Hold valid SETA accreditation certificates, including the training programmes accredited.
• Include training manuals and provide lunch for learners during assessment days.
