Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for fixing ablutions at Alton Fire Station, ensuring the completion of major plumbing repairs, wall repairs, repainting, window and door replacements, and related maintenance works within the specified timeframe.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Major repairs to plumbing-related issues
• Repairs to damp walls and cracks on walls
• Repainting walls, doors, and frames with approved paints
• Replacing broken, rotten, or missing window glass, doors, locks, and frames
• Repairs to damaged walls and floors
• Removal and installation of doors and windows with specified hardware
• Removal of damaged toilet sets and servicing of taps and sinks
• Provision of plumbing and electrical works with a provisional sum of R15,000

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify:

• Adherence to the project specifications for repairs, painting, and replacements
• Compliance with relevant SANS codes and specifications
• Verification of levels and dimensions on-site before work commencement
• Proper signing of all alterations and price changes
• Completion of work within a contract period of 1 week, including statutory and holiday periods
• Implementation of health and safety regulations in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Site clearance and removal of all excess materials upon completion
• Submission of work programme and method of work for approval

Skills and Qualification Requirements

Suppliers must meet the following criteria:

• Registration with the Central Suppliers Database (CSD) with a valid CSD number
• Provision of a Letter of Good Standing from the Compensation Fund
• Registration with the Municipal Council Database
• CIDB Grading of 1SO or higher
• Proof of competence through references of similar completed work in building construction or maintenance
• Certified trade certificates for plumbers and relevant skilled personnel
• Compliance with health and safety requirements, including SHE risk management documentation
• All alterations signed and the quotation completed in black ink
