Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to solicit quotations from qualified suppliers for laboratory consumables, including pipette aids, immersion oil, and microscope slides, to meet the needs of Onderstepoort Biological Products Ltd. The process aims to select a suitable supplier based on price, preference, and compliance with specified requirements.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes the supply of the following laboratory consumables:

• 4 units of 25ml pipette aids (red), designed for quick filling and releasing of liquids for use with 25ml serological pipettes.
• 2 units of 100ml synthetic immersion oil for microscopes.
• 10 packs of microscope slides (50 slides per pack).

The procurement covers all related goods and services necessary to fulfill the specified requirements, subject to the general conditions of contract and procurement policies of OBP.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the items are as follows:

• Pipette aids: Designed for quick filling and releasing, compatible with 25ml serological pipettes, red in color.
• Immersion oil: Synthetic oil suitable for microscopy, 100ml units.
• Microscope slides: Pack size of 50, single-sided, sterile, and suitable for laboratory use.

Suppliers must provide specifications, catalogues, Certificates of Analysis (COA), and data sheets for the items with their quotations.

Skills Requirements

The tender requires suppliers to demonstrate:

• Registration on the Central Supplier Database (CSD) with active status for South African bidders, including a recent report (not older than 2 months).
• For international bidders, a request for SBD 1 form from the procurement department and submission of SBD4 declaration.
• Compliance with procurement policies and ability to provide technical documentation and certificates as specified.
• Understanding of the evaluation criteria based on price, preference points, BBBEE status, and disability/disadvantaged status where applicable.
