Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a truck-mounted jetting machine to be used by the City of uMhlathuze. The successful supplier will provide a suitable jetting machine along with labour, equipment, and materials necessary for its operation, ensuring availability on demand with a response time of no more than 4 hours after a call from a municipal representative.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Provision of a truck-mounted jetting machine capable of high-pressure jetting operations.
• Supply of labour, equipment, and materials required for operational tasks.
• Availability of the machine at any time, day or night, with a fixed rate quoted by the supplier.
• Operation of the machine by one driver assisted by two assistants.
• Execution of jetting tasks as per specified technical requirements and specifications.

The detailed scope also involves providing the machine with specific technical features, safety compliance, and site condition requirements.

Technical Requirements

The jetting machine must meet the following specifications:

• High-pressure jetting pump: Fully variable triplex pump with a discharge capacity of approximately 170 l.p.m., operating at 25-150 bar pressure, ensuring efficiency and reliability.
• Tank: Minimum volume of 5 cubic meters (5000 liters), with ladder access, internally treated for corrosion resistance and suitable for normal water.
• Sewer hose: Minimum outside diameter of 37 mm, with a length of 100 meters, weighing approximately 60-88 kg for 25 mm diameter hose.
• Working pressure: Minimum of 5-25 bar and maximum of 100-150 bar.
• Piping: Fabricated from extra strong pipes with forged steel fittings.
• Control panel: Equipped with gauges, switches, and levers for complete operational control from a single location.

Additional requirements include machinery pictures to be attached with the quotation, safety plans, and proof of plant ownership.

Skills and Skills Requirements

The successful service provider must demonstrate:

• Capability to operate and maintain high-pressure jetting equipment according to technical specifications.
• Provision of skilled labour, including a driver and two assistants, trained to handle the jetting machine safely and efficiently.
• Compliance with safety standards and regulations, including the submission of a safety plan and adherence to the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Experience in executing similar jetting operations, with proof of plant ownership and relevant certifications.
• Registration with the Central Suppliers Database (CSD) and municipal supplier database.
• Ability to respond promptly (within 4 hours) to service calls, indicating good logistical and operational capacity.
