Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure maintenance services for the Ablutions at the Human Settlement Office, ensuring proper upkeep and functionality of the facilities. The project aims to complete the maintenance work by 02 June 2026, adhering to specified standards and requirements.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Maintenance and repairs of ablution facilities at the Human Settlement Office.
• Supply and installation of plumbing fixtures such as flushing mechanisms and heavy-duty toilet seats.
• Provision of related plumbing services, including traps and fixing doors (provisional sum).
• Site clearance and ensuring the work is completed to the satisfaction of the Project Leader.

Additional activities involve site visits, adherence to safety regulations, and compliance with occupational health and safety standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Completion of maintenance work within the specified contract period, with penalties for late completion (R500 per day).
• Compliance with the Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act and Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Provision of proof of competence, including references for similar previous work and PIRB cards for plumbers.
• Submission of a detailed work programme and method of work for approval.
• Site inspection prior to tender submission to understand the work environment and conditions.
• Provision of all necessary documentation such as certificates of good standing, registration with CSD and municipal databases, and signed alterations.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required for the tender include:

• Registered plumbing professionals with PIRB certification.
• Proven experience in plumbing maintenance and repair works, particularly in public or municipal facilities.
• Capability to prepare and submit work programmes and safety plans.
• Ability to demonstrate competence through references and previous project documentation.
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and compliance procedures.
