Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure Lifeguards Re-test Training for the City of uMhlathuze. The training aims to ensure that lifeguards are re-tested and certified for Beaches Lifeguard Award and Swimming Pool Award, maintaining high safety standards and compliance with relevant regulations.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Delivery of Lifeguards Retest Training for two awards: Beaches Lifeguard Award and Swimming Pool Award.
• Training to be conducted at specified locations: Alkantstrand Beach for Beaches Lifeguard Award and a swimming pool in Richards Bay for Swimming Pool Award.
• Provision of all necessary equipment and training materials by the service provider.
• Assessment and certification of learners upon successful completion, including re-examinations if required.
• Training duration: 2 days per award, including refresher and re-test sessions.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the training include:

• Delivery of theory and practical training methods.
• Assessment through portfolio, theory, and practical evaluations.
• Provision of all equipment and training materials by the service provider.
• Training conducted in English.
• Certification issued for successful candidates, including proof of competency.
• Re-test arrangements for candidates who do not pass initially, with the possibility of second attempts.
• Training providers must be accredited by relevant SETAs and recognized bodies such as SA Lifesaving.
• Provision of certificates indicating candidate details, unit standards, NQF level, and credits where applicable.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required from the training provider include:

• Accreditation from relevant SETAs and SA Lifesaving.
• Experience in delivering lifesaving and lifeguard training programs.
• Qualified assessors with registered assessor numbers.
• Provision of facilitators with appropriate CVs and credentials.
• Ability to supply all necessary training equipment and materials.
• Capacity to deliver both theory and practical assessments effectively.
• Experience in conducting similar training programs and providing proof of previous successful engagements.
