The City of uMhlathuze invites quotations for the maintenance and repair of the Electrical Depot Office. The primary objective is to procure a qualified contractor to undertake comprehensive building maintenance, including roof repairs and waterproofing, interior wall repairs and painting, ceiling board replacement, and floor tiling. The project aims to restore the building to a safe, functional, and neat condition, addressing structural issues such as water penetration, damaged ceilings, and worn surfaces.

2. Scope of Work

Application of Rubber-Flex waterproofing paint to the entire roof surface (620 m²). Repairs to the roof valley, including installing new aluminium roll-form valley flashing. Painting of gutters, fascia boards, and bargeboards.
    • Wall Repairs and Sealing: Filling visible cracks with appropriate filler and applying hybrid polymer sealant around all windows (50 m²) to prevent water penetration.
    • Wall Painting: Preparing interior walls by scraping and sanding, followed by applying two coats of interior-grade paint (160 m²).
    • Ceiling Boards: Removing and disposing of all sagging or damaged ceiling boards, supplying and installing new ceiling boards with cornices (140 m²), and applying one coat of paint to the new boards.
    • Floor Tiling: Stripping damaged floor tiles and supplying/fixing new 600x600mm porcelain floor tiles (65 m²). A prime cost amount of R350/m² (excluding VAT) is allowed for the supply of tiles.
  • Provisional Sum: A lump sum of R31,500.00 for all electrical-related works, including disconnection, removal, reconnection, materials, testing, and commissioning.

3. Technical Requirements

Joint Ventures, Consortia and Subcontracting:

Most large tenders are composed of tasks in a number of different fields, and it is not always possible for a single company to cater for all of them, and therefore Joint Ventures and Consortia are formed to then submit a tender together.

Government tenders are also requiring the subcontracting of a percentage of the tender work, and the trouble is then finding Subcontractors to comply with the tender requirements

To assist companies with finding tender partners and subcontractors, you can now submit your contact details and company information on this page, so other interested parties can contact you for purposes of forming Joint Ventures and subcontracting

You will need to supply your details on every tender you are interested in tendering for. For this you need an active Business Listing - Register and Login at My Account to create a Business Listing
