Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified service provider to control pests within the Victor Khanye Local Municipality (VKLM) jurisdiction, including rodents and cockroaches, on an as-and-when-required basis. The aim is to effectively eradicate or manage pest infestations in public spaces and facilities using approved chemical, mechanical, or eco-friendly methods, ensuring community health and safety.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Providing pest control services for rodents and cockroaches in public spaces and municipal facilities.
• Carrying out treatments using registered and approved control methods.
• Maintaining records of treatments and submitting treatment reports after each intervention.
• Responding promptly to pest incidents, with a response time within one hour of call.
• Providing all necessary equipment, chemicals, protective clothing, and personnel for pest control activities.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the service provider include:

• Own transport, equipment, chemicals, and personnel for pest control operations.
• Registration with the South African Pest Control Association (SAPCA) and valid registration certificates.
• Registration with the Department of Agriculture and possession of a valid pest control operator certificate.
• Public liability insurance coverage of at least R1,000,000, with proof of insurance submitted.
• Ability to respond to pest control calls within one hour.
• Record-keeping of each treatment and submission of treatment reports.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required from the service provider include:

• Qualified and experienced pest control personnel with valid operator certificates.
• Knowledge of registered pest control methods and compliance with relevant legislation.
• Ability to operate pest control equipment safely and effectively.
• Good record-keeping and reporting skills.
