Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to solicit quotations for the repair of sewer pipes at Ngwelezane A1363. The project aims to restore the integrity of the sewer infrastructure by replacing damaged sections with appropriate materials, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards, and completing the work within the stipulated timeframe.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Repair of bulk sewer pipes at Madaka in Ngwelezane.
• Installation of four lengths of 450mm AC pipes.
• Use of SABS-approved fittings.
• Provision of competent personnel for the services rendered.
• Verification of dimensions on-site prior to commencement.
• Monitoring and advising on occupational health and safety compliance.
• Completion of the project within the agreed timeframe, with penalties for delays (@ R250/day).
• Liability for damages caused during the work.
• Adherence to NEMA standards and site rehabilitation.
• Surveying invert levels and ensuring soil material properties are maintained.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the successful bidder include:

• Compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act, including the submission of a safety plan identifying risks, and availability on-site upon request.
• Provision of a safety induction before work begins.
• Maintaining safety standards, including cordoning off construction zones for staff and public safety.
• Qualified personnel with certified trade qualifications, including:
• Certified trade-tested plumber.
• Specialist works with CIDB code and grade rating of 1CE/PE or higher.
• Experience in water-related projects, with at least three (3) completed projects documented in a schedule of experience, including client references and official order/appointment letters.
• Registration with the Central Suppliers Database (CSD), with a valid CSD number.
• Provision of a Letter of Good Standing from the Compensation Fund.
• Completion of RFQ forms in black ink, with all alterations signed by the bidder.
• Adherence to environmental standards and site rehabilitation procedures.

Additional Technical Requirements

• Monitoring and advising on occupational health and safety compliance throughout the project.
• Verification of dimensions and existing services before commencing work.
• Provision of competent personnel and equipment, including delivery vehicles and machinery such as TLB, tractor, loader, backhoe, etc.
• Completion of all work within the specified delivery period, with penalties for delays.
• Liability for damages to existing services, supported by detailed maps of existing infrastructure.
