Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a service for a Fire Truck based at Richards Bay Airport. The scope includes the supply, repair, and servicing of the specified fire truck to ensure operational readiness and compliance with safety standards.

Scope

The scope of work encompasses:

• Supply, repair, and servicing of the Fire Truck (Romeo 1) at Richards Bay Airport.
• Activities include structural repairs, system assessments, and refurbishment as specified in the project documentation.
• Contract duration is set for 1 week, including statutory and holiday periods.
• Site work involves inspection, maintenance, and ensuring the vehicle meets operational standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Assessment and refurbishment of the Fire Truck, including components such as the pump, foam system, gearbox, hose reels, pneumatic systems, drive axles, and superstructure.
• Compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, including the Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act and related safety standards.
• Work hours are from Monday to Friday, 07:00 to 16:30, with outside hours subject to approval.
• Site clearance and proper disposal of debris are mandatory.
• Work must be completed within the contractual timeframe with penalties for delays.
• All alterations to quotations must be signed by the bidder.
• Suppliers must be registered with the Central Suppliers Database (CSD) and provide a Letter of Good Standing.
• Accreditation by Rosenbauer International is required.

Skills and Qualification Requirements

Bidder qualifications include:

• Proven experience in the repair and servicing of fire trucks or similar heavy-duty vehicles.
• Provision of references or proof of previous similar work completed successfully.
• Registration with the Municipal Council Database and CSD.
• Compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
• Capability to undertake structural assessments and system refurbishments as specified.
• Availability of skilled technical personnel familiar with fire truck systems and refurbishments.
• Certification of accreditation by Rosenbauer International for relevant equipment or systems.
