Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to upgrade the sewer line at Esikhaleni (Ediphini Area). The project aims to improve the sewer infrastructure by providing necessary labour, equipment, and materials to carry out the upgrade work efficiently and in compliance with relevant safety and regulatory standards.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Providing labour, equipment, and materials required for the sewer line upgrade.
• Removing old materials and transporting them back to Esikhawini water depot upon completion.
• Ensuring all work complies with the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act.
• Fulfilling the CIDB grade rating requirement of 1CE, 1SO, or higher.
• Completing the construction within approximately 2 weeks of the start date.
• Attaching a qualification certificate for a trade-tested plumber.
• Leaving the site in good condition after completion.
• Implementing a safety plan and participating in site audits to monitor compliance.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the project include:

• Provision of labour, equipment, and materials suitable for sewer line upgrade work.
• Adherence to all conditions on site and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Familiarity with site conditions and proper quoting accordingly.
• Provision of a safety plan identifying risks, available on-site upon request.
• Use of qualified, trade-tested plumbers with appropriate certification.
• Completion of work within the specified timeframe, with penalties for delays.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required for the successful bidder include:

• CIDB grade rating of 1CE, 1SO, or higher.
• Trade-tested plumber certification with relevant qualification certificates.
• Ability to provide skilled labour, including plumbers and other necessary personnel.
• Capability to operate and manage equipment and materials safely and effectively.
• Knowledge of OHS Act regulations and safety procedures.
• Experience in sewer line upgrade projects or similar infrastructure works.
