Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure and supply building materials, specifically 9,000 bricks, to be delivered to the Alton Roads depot in Empangeni and eSikhaleni, with a deadline for delivery by 27 August 2026. The aim is to ensure timely and efficient procurement of quality building materials to meet the needs of the City of uMhlathuze.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Supply and delivery of 9,000 bricks to specified depots in Alton Roads, Empangeni, and eSikhaleni.
• Delivery of 3,000 bricks per depot, with collection arrangements as specified.
• Adherence to detailed specifications provided upon contact with the project officer.
• Completion of delivery by the stipulated deadline of 27 August 2026.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Provision of building bricks meeting the specifications provided upon request.
• Delivery of bricks to the specified depots within the required lead time.
• Compliance with all relevant statutory changes, including VAT and customs levies.
• Registration with the Central Suppliers Database (CSD) and submission of a valid CSD number.
• Provision of a Letter of Good Standing from relevant authorities.
• Completion of all RFQ documentation in black ink, with signed alterations where applicable.
• Adherence to health, safety, and environmental management standards as specified.

Skills and Qualification Requirements

Suppliers must demonstrate:

• Registration with the Central Suppliers Database (CSD).
• Registration with the Municipal Council Database.
• Provision of a valid Letter of Good Standing from the Compensation Fund.
• Capability to deliver the specified quantity within the stipulated lead time.
• Compliance with preferential procurement points allocation, including proof of ownership by South African citizens, rural area residents, youth, disabled persons, and women, where applicable.
• Ability to complete and submit all compulsory documentation, including tax compliance certificates, health certificates (if applicable), and signed bid documents.
• Demonstrated experience in supplying building materials and managing large-scale deliveries.
