Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure and supply Chemlab Chemicals through a supply and deliver service, with delivery scheduled by 30 July 2026. The aim is to ensure the availability of specified chemicals in the required quantities and quality standards for the City of uMhlathuze.

Scope

The scope includes the supply and delivery of various chemicals and reference materials, such as certified reference materials, sodium chloride, chloroform, phosphoric acid, chloramine T trihydrate, copper (II) sulfate pentahydrate, and acetone, among others. The delivery address is the Supply Chain Management Unit at the end of Betastraal, Alton, Richards Bay. The procurement covers multiple items with specified quantities and delivery lead times, all to be supplied in original manufacturer’s sealed containers with accompanying Certificates of Analysis (COA).

Technical Requirements

• All chemicals must meet specified purity levels and be accompanied by a COA certifying their values at 25°C.
• Items must be supplied in original, sealed containers from the manufacturer.
• Suppliers must be registered with the Central Suppliers Database (CSD) and provide the CSD number.
• A valid Letter of Good Standing must be submitted.
• Quotations must be completed in black ink; price alterations require signatures.
• No price increases will be accepted after submission.
• All alterations and signatures must be properly signed to be valid.
• All chemicals should conform to the specified standards and quantities listed in the RFQ.

Skills and Qualification Requirements

• Suppliers must be registered with the Central Suppliers Database and the Municipal Council Database.
• Suppliers should demonstrate compliance with statutory requirements, including tax compliance and good standing with relevant authorities.
• Bidder’s representatives must sign the bid documents, confirming understanding and compliance with the tender requirements.
• Suppliers should have the capacity to deliver the specified chemicals within the stipulated lead times.
• All alterations or amendments to the bid must be signed by the bidder to confirm authenticity.
• Relevant experience in supplying chemicals and familiarity with quality standards are essential.
• Knowledge of procurement procedures, including completing RFQ forms and submitting relevant documentation, is required.
