Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure supply and delivery of hydrochloric acid in 25L containers, with a specified delivery deadline of 6 March 2026. The aim is to ensure the City of uMhlathuze receives the required chemical in a timely and compliant manner, adhering to all relevant procurement policies and technical standards.

Scope

The scope of the tender encompasses:

• Supply and delivery of 20 units of hydrochloric acid in 25L containers.
• Delivery to the Supply Chain Management Unit at the specified address in Richards Bay.
• Compliance with all statutory and municipal procurement requirements.
• Adherence to the conditions specified in the RFQ, including signing alterations and providing all compulsory documentation.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Provision of hydrochloric acid in 25L containers.
• Delivery within the specified lead time, with no price increases after submission.
• Registration with the Central Suppliers Database (CSD) and submission of a Letter of Good Standing.
• Completion of RFQ forms in black ink, signed and signed alterations.
• Provision of all relevant certifications, including SHE risk management documentation and health certificates if applicable.

Skills and Qualification Requirements

Suppliers must meet the following skills and qualification criteria:

• Registration with the Central Suppliers Database (CSD) and Municipal Council Database.
• Provision of a valid Letter of Good Standing from the Compensation Fund or Department of Labour.
• Capability to supply the specified quantity within the stipulated lead time.
• Compliance with statutory and municipal procurement policies, including signing all alterations and documentation.
• Possession of relevant health, safety, and accreditation certificates if applicable.
• Understanding of preferential procurement points system and ability to claim points for designated groups (e.g., youth, disabled persons, women-owned businesses).
