Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to supply and deliver a workshop toolbox (PTK2B) equipped with hand and power tools suitable for workshop use, to the City of uMhlathuze by 08 October 2025. The procurement aims to ensure the availability of quality tools with appropriate warranties and testing, meeting the technical and safety standards required by the municipality.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Supply and delivery of a workshop toolbox (PTK2B) comprising a combined roller cabinet chest (size 616 x 330 x 1080mm).
• Provision of a selection of hand and power tools suitable for workshop use.
• Inclusion of specific contents such as a magnetic parts tray.
• Delivery to the Supply Chain Management Unit at the specified address.
• Demonstration and testing of electrical appliances before handover.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for the toolbox and tools include:

• A combined roller cabinet chest with dimensions 616 x 330 x 1080mm.
• Tools suitable for workshop applications, including hand tools, power tools, and accessories.
• A magnetic parts tray.
• Tools and appliances must be tested and demonstrate functionality prior to delivery.
• Tools and toolbox must be covered by a minimum 3-year warranty.

Additional technical requirements include adherence to safety standards, proper testing, and demonstration of electrical appliances, as well as compliance with all statutory and safety regulations.

Skills and Qualification Requirements

Suppliers must meet the following skills and qualification criteria:

• Registration with the Central Suppliers Database (CSD); proof of registration must be provided.
• Provision of a valid Letter of Good Standing from the Compensation Fund or Department of Labour.
• Capability to deliver and demonstrate electrical appliances and tools.
• Compliance with statutory requirements, including tax compliance and SHE (Safety, Health, Environment) risk management documentation.
• Possession of relevant certifications, such as accreditation with SITA (if applicable), and health certificates for catering suppliers (if relevant).
• Signatures on all alterations and the quotation itself, indicating acknowledgment of the terms.
• Demonstrated capacity to meet delivery deadlines and technical specifications.

Furthermore, bidders should have the capacity to provide all compulsory documentation and demonstrate adherence to procurement policies, including non-collusive bidding practices and compliance with preferential procurement points criteria.
