Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure a supply service for the refurbishment of the registry at the City of uMhlathuze. The project aims to upgrade and refurbish the registry structure to ensure improved functionality and compliance with relevant standards, with a completion deadline of 29 May 2026.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Repair and refurbishment of the registry structure as specified in the project specifications.
• Site clearance and removal of excess/discarded materials.
• Adherence to the contract period of 1 week, including statutory and builder’s holidays.
• Implementation of health and safety regulations and compliance with occupational health and safety acts.
• Provision of proof of competence and previous similar work.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Completion of repairs on the registry structure as per the detailed specifications.
• Submission of a work programme and method of work for approval prior to commencement.
• Compliance with occupational health and safety legislation, including carrying out obligations under the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993.
• Site clearance to the satisfaction of the Project Leader, with no burying of discarded materials.
• Adherence to the contract period and penalties for late completion (R500 per day).

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Proven competence through previous work references of similar refurbishment projects.
• Capability to execute repairs within the specified timeframe and adhere to safety standards.
• Registration with relevant databases such as the Central Suppliers Database (CSD) and Municipal Council Database.
• Provision of necessary documentation including a Letter of Good Standing, tax compliance certificates, and proof of insurance.
• Ability to prepare and submit a detailed work programme and method statement for approval.
