Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure tiling services at the Council Chambers in Empangeni, with the work scheduled for completion by 17 June 2026. The project involves removal of existing tiles, installation of new tiles, and associated works such as installing security barriers and blinds as specified in the scope of work.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Removal of existing tiles in the Council Chambers at Empangeni.
• Supply and installation of new tiling as specified.
• Installation of security barriers and blinds as part of the refurbishment.
• Site clearance and ensuring the site is left clean and safe upon completion.
• Work to be completed within a contract period of 1 week.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify:

• Adherence to the scope of work outlined, including tile removal and replacement, and installation of security barriers.
• Compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act.
• Submission of a work programme and method of work for approval prior to commencement.
• Site clearance to the satisfaction of the Project Leader, with no burying of discarded materials.
• Provision of proof of competence and previous relevant work experience.
• Completion of work within the specified contract period, with penalties for late completion.

• Registration with the Central Suppliers Database (CSD) with a valid CSD number.
• Provision of a Letter of Good Standing from the Compensation Fund.
• Demonstrated experience and references for similar tiling projects.
• Compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
• Ability to execute the work within the stipulated timeframe and adhere to safety and quality standards.
• Signatures on all alterations and the quotation document, confirming understanding and compliance with tender requirements.
