Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to solicit quotations for the supply and fitting of mechanical spares and related services for the City of uMhlathuze. The aim is to procure quality mechanical components and services to maintain and service municipal vehicles and equipment efficiently, ensuring operational readiness and compliance with relevant standards.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Supply and fitting of mechanical spares as specified in the RFQ, including but not limited to wheel bearings, stabilizer links, ball joints, brake discs, brake pads, rear linings, shocks, rack ends, fuel anti-theft units, and vehicle commissioning.
• Servicing of specific vehicle models, notably the ISUZU KB 250 LE LDV Double Cab 4x4, including replacement of parts, wheel alignment, and vehicle cleaning.
• Provision of all necessary alterations, repairs, and commissioning within specified lead times.
• Only RMI-accredited service providers are eligible to submit quotations.
• All work must be completed within 7 days of receiving the purchase order.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements for the tender include:

• Provision of detailed quotations with itemized breakdowns of all works and parts, including costs.
• All alterations and modifications must be signed off by the bidder, confirming approval of changes.
• All suppliers must be registered with the Central Suppliers Database (CSD), and the CSD number must be provided. Non-registered suppliers will not be considered.
• Submission of a Letter of Good Standing and relevant compliance certificates.
• Adherence to statutory VAT and customs/levy regulations.
• Use of black ink for completing RFQ forms; pencil entries are not accepted.
• All work must be performed by qualified, RMI-accredited service providers.
• Vehicle servicing includes replacement of specified parts, wheel alignment, and returning old parts, with the vehicle cleaned and washed post-service.
• Delivery to the specified address within the stipulated lead time.
