Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to secure a contractor for the Richards Bay Dust Monitoring and Management Contract over a period of three months. The aim is to ensure effective dust monitoring and management at the Richards Bay site, complying with relevant environmental and safety standards.

Scope

The scope of work is detailed in Annexure A and includes:

• Monitoring dust levels at the Richards Bay site.
• Implementing dust management measures to minimize environmental impact.
• Providing technical support and reporting on dust levels and control measures.
• Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Provision of dust monitoring equipment and technology.
• Regular data collection and analysis of dust levels.
• Reporting and documentation of monitoring results.
• Implementation of dust suppression and control measures as per Annexure A.
• Security clearance for personnel involved, at levels such as CONFIDENTIAL, SECRET, or TOP SECRET, if applicable.
• Compliance with legal and environmental standards specified by Transnet.

Skills Requirements

The bidder must demonstrate the following skills and qualifications:

• Environmental sciences expertise, with personnel holding SACNASP Professional Registration in Environmental or Atmospheric Sciences.
• Academic qualifications, such as MSc or higher in Environmental Management, Studies, or Sciences.
• Experience in dust monitoring and environmental management projects.
• Ability to operate and maintain dust monitoring equipment.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and standards related to dust and environmental management.
• Security clearance capabilities for personnel, if required.
• Strong reporting, data analysis, and technical documentation skills.
