Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to solicit closed quotes for the regravelling of roads in Ward 29 within KwaDukuza Municipality. The aim is to ensure the maintenance and improvement of road infrastructure in the specified ward, adhering to municipal policies and standards.

Scope

The scope of work involves the regravelling of roads in Ward 29. Bidders are expected to submit proposals that cover the supply and application of suitable gravel materials to upgrade and maintain the road surfaces in the designated area, ensuring compliance with municipal requirements.

Technical Requirements

• Participation is open to contractors with a grading of 1CE or higher.
• Bidders must be registered and screened through the National Treasury’s Defaulters Database.
• Proof of local municipality or municipal services status must be provided, including:
• Municipal rates, electricity, and other municipal services status or a landlord’s letter/certificate indicating no arrears, or
• A letter from the Ward Councillor or an affidavit confirming exemption from municipal rates and taxes.
• Evaluation will consider the bidder’s location within KwaDukuza Municipal Jurisdiction and whether the business is 51% EME or QSE Black Owned, with proof required.
• All bids will be screened against the Central Supplier Database (CSD).

Skills and Qualification Requirements

• Contractors must hold a grading of 1CE or higher.
• Bidder must demonstrate compliance with municipal and national screening processes.
• Proof of local ownership and operational status within KwaDukuza Municipality is required.
• Preference will be given to Affirmable Business Enterprises.
• Bid submissions must be sealed, endorsed with the correct reference, and submitted by the deadline.
