Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure RVF (Rift Valley Fever) live inserts and LSD (Lumpy Skin Disease) cartons to meet the supply needs of Onderstepoort Biological Products Ltd. The procurement aims to ensure the availability of specified vaccine packaging materials and inserts that comply with technical and quality standards, supporting the production and distribution of vaccines.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Supply of 20,000 LSD cartons as per attached specifications.
• Supply of 50,000 Rift Valley Fever live vaccine inserts (100ml).
• Supply of Lumpy Skin Disease vaccine 50ml combo display cartons.
• Provision of all necessary packaging inserts, cartons, and related materials that meet specified technical requirements.
• Adherence to quality assurance, packaging, and labeling standards as detailed in the specifications.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements are detailed and include:

For Rift Valley Fever Live Vaccine Inserts:

• Use Typek Bond, wood-free, matt glazed thin printing paper, 50 g/sqm ± 10.
• Dimensions: 32 mm (L) x 130 mm (W) (± 1 mm), thickness 55 microns (52-60 microns).
• Surface uncoated, white in color, with process black ink references.
• Bar code affixed on the top, with supplier identification on the bottom.
• Each bundle contains 1,000 leaflets, wrapped and packed into shippers with labels indicating order number.
• All consignments must include a Certificate of Conformance (C of C).

For Lumpy Skin Disease 50ml Combo Display Cartons:

• Made from SBS (cellulose) solid bleach sulphate virgin board, 73 mm x 46 mm x 76.5 mm.
• Pre-creased along specified lines, with perforations for gluing, unprinted and unpainted.
• Printed with Pantone colors, with batch and reference numbers printed on the bottom flap.
• Die-cut with perforations and pre-cuts for machine packaging, wrapped in paper, delivered flat in bundles of 50.
• Must have a Certificate of Conformance with specified details.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Proficiency in manufacturing and packaging of vaccine inserts and cartons according to detailed specifications.
• Experience in producing pharmaceutical packaging materials that meet regulatory and quality standards.
• Capability to provide Certificates of Conformance and in-house testing results.
• Technical expertise in die-cutting, printing, and packaging processes for medical and vaccine products.
• Compliance with South African procurement and quality assurance standards, including BBBEE certification and tax compliance.
