Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure and supply the following medical products: Bowie Dick Test Pack, Prolistica Multi Enzymatic Cleaner, and Soda Lime Anaesthesia (5LT). The aim is to ensure the availability of these essential sterilization and anesthesia supplies to support hospital operations, specifically at Charles Johnson Memorial Hospital, and to promote South African enterprises in line with departmental goals.

Scope

The scope includes the supply, delivery, and associated services for:

• 80 boxes of Bowie Dick Test Packs (50's per box) for pre-testing autoclaves
• 20 units of Prolistica Multi Enzymatic Cleaner (liquid detergent, 5LT)
• 5 units of Soda Lime Anaesthesia (5LT), chemical absorbent

The products must meet specified standards, specifications, and quality requirements, and be delivered to Charles Johnson Memorial Hospital within the contract period, which is once-off. The procurement also involves compliance with departmental policies, including preference for South African owned enterprises.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Bowtie Dick Test Pack: Folded 100% cotton surgical towels with commercially available Bowie-Dick test sheet, placed horizontally in sterilizer racks, used daily for vacuum sterilizer pre-testing.
• Prolistica Multi Enzymatic Cleaner: Liquid detergent in 5LT bottles, suitable for enzymatic cleaning processes.
• Soda Lime Anaesthesia: Chemical absorbent with specific performance parameters such as CO2 absorption capacity, shape, size (Ø3.0mm x 2.0-5.0mm), and color indication, packaged in 5LT units.

All products must conform to relevant standards, specifications, and quality assurance requirements, including the attached specifications document.

Skills and Capacity Requirements

Bidders must demonstrate:

• Capacity to deliver the specified quantities within the stipulated timeframe, supported by proof of previous orders and deliveries (e.g., delivery notes, invoices).
• Compliance with technical specifications and standards, confirmed through documentation and samples if required.
• Ability to provide technical support, including on-site assembly, commissioning, training, and maintenance services if applicable.
• Registration and compliance with relevant regulatory and procurement policies, including VAT registration, CSD registration, and tax clearance.
• Disclosures regarding any conflicts of interest or relationships with Department of Health employees, as per the Bidder’s Disclosure (SBD4) form.
• Provision of all mandatory documentation, including signed forms, certificates, and proof of compliance, to ensure responsiveness and eligibility for evaluation.
