Scope

The tender encompasses two distinct work packages:

• Equipment Supply: Provision of safety equipment rated for sewerage environments, variable frequency drives (specifically Weg brand or approved equivalents), and step ladders for plant maintenance staff.
• Building Renovations: Comprehensive restoration works including demolition and replacement of collapsed roof structures, brickwork repair, plastering, and thermal insulation. Additional scopes involve installing seamless gutters, downpipes, and fascia boards; fitting suspended gypsum ceilings; replacing water-damaged laminated flooring with acoustic underlay and new click-lock panels; mounting aluminium Venetian blinds; installing multi-point door locks; executing internal and external painting; and performing carpentry tasks such as semi-solid door replacement and timber dado rail installation.

Technical Requirements

All submissions must be completed electronically via the municipal procurement portal; faxed entries will be rejected. Detailed specifications and pricing schedules must be uploaded prior to the closing deadline. Quoted rates must remain valid for a minimum of thirty days and must include value-added tax. Contractors must hold an active Construction Industry Development Board registration with a minimum grading of 1 (GB), subject to verification during scoring. Failure to price the mandatory contingency line item will result in disqualification. Successful bidders must compile a Health and Safety file, submit a detailed project programme within three days of appointment, and strictly adhere to weekday working hours (08:00–16:00). Contractors must also be equipped to deploy local ward-based labour, manage employment equity and public works programme documentation for contracts exceeding thirty thousand rand, and ensure all deliverables align with municipal quality standards and contractual timelines.
