Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the repair and servicing of 12 faulty industrial geysers at SAPS: Cr Swart Square/Durban Police Station. The aim is to ensure the geysers are restored to proper working condition, complying with safety and quality standards, within the specified timeframe.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Site visit to assess the faulty geysers located in different sections (cell block, female section, etc.)
• Inspection of electrical, gas, fan, compressor, coils, filters, and drains
• Diagnostics to identify faults
• Repairs and servicing of 12 industrial geysers, including replacement of elements, thermostats, temperature & pressure sensors, and refurbishment of motor pumps
• Replacement of piping, fittings, and rigging as necessary
• Adherence to manufacturer’s specifications and safety regulations
• Provision of detailed breakdowns of repairs and costs per unit
• Completion of all work within the specified period, with final testing and commissioning

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, including submission of a Safety Plan
• Use of approved, original, and quality materials and equipment
• Inspection and testing of all repaired units to ensure proper functioning
• Provision of warranties or guarantees for a minimum of 6 months on all replaced parts and workmanship
• Qualified artisans/technicians with relevant certifications and registration
• Adherence to manufacturer’s specifications for servicing and repairs
• Inspection of equipment prior to quoting to confirm scope of work
• Proper documentation, including detailed quotations, work breakdowns, and certification of compliance

Skills and Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Qualified artisans and technicians specialized in electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration work
• Relevant registration and certification (e.g., trade certificates, professional registration)
• Experience in servicing industrial geysers and similar systems
• Ability to conduct diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety standards
• Capability to prepare detailed work breakdowns and cost estimates
• Proven track record of completing similar projects within deadlines and quality standards
• Capacity to provide warranties and after-service support
