Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the desludging of one overflowing septic tank at the Hibberdene police station located at 11 Minerva Crescent. The service aims to address sanitation issues by removing septic tank overflow and ensuring proper sewer line cleaning and blockage clearance.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Desludging of one overflowing septic tank with a capacity of approximately 10,000 liters.
• High-pressure cleaning and rodding of the entire sewer line from the drain head to the septic tank to clear all blockages and make good.
• Provision of occupational health and safety measures, safety plans, project plans, and work schedules prior to commencement.
• Disposal of sludge and effluent at approved municipal dumpsites, with submission of disposal certificates.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, including providing a Safety Plan and Work Schedule.
• Use of appropriate desludging equipment and techniques to ensure effective removal of septic tank contents.
• High-pressure cleaning and rodding of sewer lines over a length of approximately 22 meters.
• Adherence to environmental and municipal disposal regulations, including submission of disposal certificates.
• Provision of necessary safety and health documentation, including Safety Plan, Project Plan, and Work Schedule.

Skills Requirements

The skills and qualifications required for the service provider include:

• Proven experience in septic tank desludging and sewer line cleaning, preferably with similar projects completed within the past 5-10 years.
• Qualified personnel trained in occupational health and safety standards, including the ability to develop and implement Safety Plans.
• Competence in operating high-pressure cleaning equipment and sewer cleaning machinery.
• Capability to prepare and submit disposal certificates and environmental compliance documentation.
• Ability to coordinate and execute the work within a one-week contract period, demonstrating project management skills.
• Registered and compliant with relevant regulatory bodies, including CIDB registration (minimum grade 1 SO or higher) and proof of professional registration where applicable.
