Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to solicit quotations for the supply, service, and repair of two water pumps at SAPS Kwamashu Police Station. The department aims to ensure the water pumps are maintained in good working order through qualified service providers, adhering to specified technical and safety standards.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Service and repairs to two water pumps at Kwamashu Police Station.
• Inspection, diagnostics, and necessary repairs or replacement of faulty components.
• Provision of detailed breakdowns of repairs and costs.
• Compliance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
• Optional replacement if repairs exceed 70% of the cost of a new unit.
• Submission of qualified artisan credentials and relevant certifications.

Technical Requirements

The technical scope involves:

• Inspection of electrical components, gas systems, fans, motors, compressors, coils, filters, and drains.
• Full diagnostics to identify faults.
• Execution of repairs using approved materials and standards.
• Adherence to Occupational Health and Safety regulations, including submission of a Safety Plan prior to work.
• Provision of original or manufacturer-guaranteed parts with minimum 6 months warranty.
• Qualified mechanical artisans/technicians with proof of qualifications.
• Compliance with relevant legislation such as the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Workman's Compensation requirements.

Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Qualified artisans or technicians in mechanical engineering, with proof of qualifications.
• Registration for Workman's Compensation and a valid good-standing certificate.
• Experience in servicing and repairing water pumps and related mechanical systems.
• Ability to provide detailed quotations, including defect analysis, labor, materials, transport, and markup.
• Capability to carry out repairs or recommend replacement based on cost analysis.
• Compliance with safety standards and submission of a comprehensive Safety Plan.
