Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to solicit qualified service providers to perform maintenance, repair, and related services for the fire control system, fire sprinklers, smoke detectors, and associated equipment at the Ntuzuma Police Station. The aim is to ensure the fire safety systems are fully operational, compliant with relevant standards, and maintained in accordance with legal and safety requirements.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Service and repair of the fire control system, fire sprinklers, and smoke detection system within the Ntuzuma Police Station.
• Inspection, testing, and certification of fire safety equipment such as fire detection panels, repeater panels, sensors, detectors, seals, sounders, sirens, and associated hardware.
• Replacement of condemned or missing fire safety equipment.
• Pressure testing, hydro testing, and refilling of fire suppression agents (e.g., Argonite refills).
• Provision of safety documentation, certificates, and compliance reports in accordance with SANS standards and relevant regulations.
• Site inspection and preparation prior to work commencement, including submission of detailed quotations and work schedules.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify that:

• The contractor must comply with SANS 1475 standards and servicing manuals.
• All work must be performed using approved materials and equipment suitable for the existing fire systems.
• Replacement parts and equipment must meet the specifications and be certified for use in fire safety systems.
• Technicians involved must be qualified, registered with SAQCC, and possess valid certificates of competence.
• The contractor must provide Certificates of Compliance and relevant certification for all work performed.
• All equipment must be pressure tested, hydro tested, and certified, with certificates submitted upon completion.
• Work must be executed in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations, with a submitted Safety Plan approved prior to commencement.
• All repairs and servicing must ensure the fire safety systems are fully operational and compliant with legal standards.

Skills Requirements

The tender stipulates that the successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Qualified and registered artisans/technicians with SAQCC certification on fire systems.
• Proven experience in servicing and repairing fire detection, alarm, and suppression systems, preferably in a government or institutional setting.
• Ability to perform pressure testing, hydro testing, and certification of fire suppression agents such as Argonite.
• Knowledge of relevant South African standards (SANS 1475) and compliance procedures.
• Capability to provide comprehensive safety documentation, certificates, and reports.
• Capacity to respond promptly to emergency repairs and maintenance requests.
