Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the desludging of six overflowing septic tanks at the SAPS Sawoti station located at Erf 16111 Mendosa Farm. The aim is to effectively remove and dispose of septic sludge to maintain station sanitation and operational efficiency.

Scope

The scope of work includes:

• Desludging of six septic tanks with a capacity of 10,000 liters each, at the back of the station.
• High-pressure cleaning and rodding of the entire sewer line from the drain head to the septic tanks to clear blockages and ensure proper flow.
• Provision of occupational health and safety measures, safety plans, and work schedules prior to commencement.
• Disposal of sludge at approved municipal dumpsites, with submission of disposal certificates.
• Adherence to all relevant occupational health and safety regulations and environmental standards.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Completion of desludging of all six septic tanks in a single, once-off operation.
• High-pressure cleaning of sewer lines, including clearing all blockages from the drain head to the septic tanks.
• Provision of a safety plan, project plan, and work schedule before starting work.
• Use of appropriate equipment and materials that comply with industry standards and manufacturer specifications.
• Submission of disposal certificates from municipal dumpsites confirming proper sludge disposal.
• Compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, including providing a safety plan and project schedule.

Skills and Skills Requirements

The tenderer must demonstrate:

• Relevant experience in desludging septic tanks and sewer line cleaning, preferably with similar projects in the past 5-10 years.
• Capability to supply and operate high-pressure cleaning equipment and sludge removal vehicles.
• Qualified personnel with appropriate certifications, including a certified plumber and safety officers.
• Ability to prepare and submit occupational health and safety plans, project schedules, and disposal certificates.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations related to waste disposal and handling of sewage sludge.
• Financial capacity to undertake the project, including compliance with VAT registration and tax obligations.
