Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure the supply and delivery of patient clothing, including pyjamas, gowns, and tracksuits, for Dora Nginza Hospital over a period of 12 months. The service provider is expected to provide quality garments that meet specified standards, including sample provision and timely delivery, to support patient care at the hospital.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Supply and delivery of psychiatric patient clothing, specifically gowns, pyjamas, and tracksuits.
• Provision of samples prior to contract award.
• Delivery of garments within 2 to 4 weeks after receipt of an order.
• Compliance with detailed specifications for each clothing item, including material, design, and labeling requirements.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Pyjamas: V-neck top, elastic waist bottom with no strings, labels permanently stitched with clear, readable writing indicating sizes, and printed or embroidered branding ("DNH – MHU") on the front left chest area.
• Gowns: Short belt stitched, no buttons, no strings, with labels as specified, and branding ("DNH – MHU").
• Tracksuits: Elastic waist bottoms with no strings, zip-up tops, with labels, and branding ("DNH – MHU").
• Materials: 65% cotton and 35% polyester for pyjamas; fleece for gowns; windbreaker with lining for tracksuits.
• Color options: Navy, Dark Green, Dark Grey, Dark Brown, Black.
• Labels: Must be permanently stitched, indicating sizes, placed inside the back neck or waistband, with clear print or embroidery.
• Sample provision: Service providers must submit samples before contract award.

Skills Requirements

The successful bidder must demonstrate:

• Experience in supply and delivery of similar garments within South Africa, supported by references.
• Availability of delivery vehicles within the Eastern Cape Province capable of meeting delivery requirements.
• Understanding of technical specifications and quality standards for hospital patient clothing.
• Compliance with procurement procedures, including registration on the Central Supplier Database (CSD) and tax compliance.
• Ability to provide samples promptly and deliver within stipulated timeframes.
