Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure cleaning services at PE Pharmaceutical Depot for a period of four (4) months. The services aim to ensure a high standard of cleanliness within the depot, including offices, warehouses, and clinical areas, to support safe storage and distribution of pharmaceuticals and related supplies.

Scope

The scope encompasses comprehensive cleaning services across the PE Pharmaceutical Depot, including:

• Cleaning of offices, warehouses, stairways, and storage areas
• Deep cleaning of carpets and floors
• Waste disposal and waste bin management
• Cleaning of windows, glass partitions, and blinds
• Sanitization of toilets, hand basins, and sanitary fittings
• Cleaning of walls, paintworks, and external surfaces
• Provision of cleaning equipment, uniforms, and consumables
• Adherence to infection control measures and occupational health and safety standards

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications include:

• Use of SABS-approved disinfectants and cleaning agents, compliant with relevant standards (SABS 47, 643, 1032, etc.)
• Availability of appropriate cleaning equipment such as industrial scrubbers, vacuums, pressure blowers, and mops
• Provision of uniforms, safety shoes, gloves, and identification tags for staff
• Implementation of infection control protocols and waste management procedures
• Maintenance of a detailed and authentic payroll database of cleaners and supervisory staff
• Compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act and other relevant legislation
• Provision of training programs covering general cleaning, infection control, equipment usage, and safety precautions
• Availability of a nearest operational office for service delivery and supervision

Skills Requirements

The bidder must demonstrate:

• Experience in providing cleaning services in large or industrial facilities, with references and proof of past contracts
• Qualified and experienced supervisory staff with proven track record (minimum 1-3 years, preferably more)
• Technical competence in handling cleaning machinery and chemicals, with evidence of ownership or lease agreements
• Knowledge of infection control standards and waste management protocols
• Ability to develop and implement comprehensive training programs for staff
• Financial stability, evidenced by audited financial statements or bank confirmation letters
• Capacity to supply and manage sufficient workforce, including local employment within the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality area
• Understanding of local economic development and compliance with sector-specific wage rates and employment regulations
