Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint suitable service providers to form part of a professional agency database for the supply of nurses to Livistone Tertiary Hospital. The aim is to ensure the hospital has access to qualified nursing staff on short notice, especially for emergency situations, over a period of twelve months.

Scope

• Supply and delivery of professional agency nurses, including professional nurses (specialty and general), enrolled nurses, and enrolled nursing assistants.
• Provision of nurses on short notice during emergency situations as declared by the hospital’s responsible manager.
• Delivery to specified addresses, which will be provided to successful bidders.
• Ensure that contracted nurses are registered with the South African Nursing Council and that their registration is valid at all times.
• Services may be required for any day, including weekends and public holidays, for day and night shifts.
• Contract duration is for 12 months, with immediate deployment upon order issuance.

Technical Requirements

• Provision of qualified nurses with valid registration with the South African Nursing Council.
• Availability of nurses for emergency placement within 30 minutes of order.
• Adherence to health and safety protocols, including PPE and security identification (uniforms with SANC devices).
• Compliance with all relevant legislation, including employment, health, and safety regulations.
• Provision of proof of registration, experience, and references for similar services.
• Use of a rate/item price basis, fixed for the contract period, with detailed hourly rates for various nursing categories and shifts.
• Ability to supply nurses on short notice, including weekends and holidays, with flexible deployment as per hospital needs.

Skills Requirements

• Qualified nursing staff with current registration with the South African Nursing Council.
• Experience in emergency nursing, ICU, trauma, or general wards as applicable.
• Ability to provide staff on short notice, demonstrating responsiveness and reliability.
• Competence in adhering to health and safety standards, including PPE and security protocols.
• Proven track record through references and project experience in similar healthcare staffing services.
• Administrative skills to manage documentation, compliance, and reporting requirements.
