Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to procure services for the servicing and repair of CCTV (surveillance) cameras at Port Shepstone Hospital. The aim is to ensure the CCTV system remains operational, well-maintained, and capable of providing reliable surveillance coverage.

Scope

The scope includes, but is not limited to:

• Physical inspection and cleaning of all camera housings, lenses, and domes (both internal and external/weatherproof units);
• Testing and adjustment of camera focus, field of view, angle, and image clarity;
• Inspection of camera mountings, brackets, and enclosures for damage, corrosion, or tampering;
• Testing infrared (IR) illuminators and low-light/night vision performance;
• Inspection and testing of power supply units (PSUs), PoE injectors/switches, and backup power systems (UPS);
• Inspection of cables, connectors, and conduits for damage or water ingress;
• Testing of DVR/NVR including hard drive health and storage capacity;
• Verification of recording continuity, playback, and retention;
• Testing monitoring station display units and software;
• Verification of system date/time synchronization and camera labeling;
• Software and firmware updates as recommended by OEM;
• Backup of system configuration settings;
• Provision of written service reports after each visit.

This is a scheduled preventive maintenance contract. Reactive repairs, parts, and callouts outside scheduled visits are outside the scope and require separate quotes.

Technical Requirements

• Compliance with OEM specifications for CCTV equipment;
• Provision of qualified technical staff with relevant OEM training or certifications;
• Adherence to hospital protocols, including safety, infection control, and confidentiality;
• Use of appropriate tools, testing equipment, and consumables for servicing;
• Ability to produce detailed service reports and documentation;
• Compliance with Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) standards where applicable;
• Minimum of three years' verifiable experience in CCTV servicing and maintenance;
• Proof of registration with relevant authorities (e.g., PSIRA, CIPC, CIDB, BBBEE).

Skills Requirements

• Technical expertise in CCTV system installation, servicing, and troubleshooting;
• Knowledge of networked CCTV systems, DVR/NVR management, and firmware updates;
• Ability to conduct system inspections, diagnostics, and repairs;
• Competence in reading technical drawings, specifications, and system documentation;
• Effective communication skills for reporting and coordination with hospital staff;
• Compliance with health and safety regulations and hospital protocols;
• Vetting and security clearance for personnel working on hospital premises.
