Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint a qualified service provider to perform the service and repair of fire fighting equipment at multiple specified locations including magistrates' courts, SAPS stations, and other government facilities across the region. The aim is to ensure that all fire fighting equipment is maintained in operational condition, compliant with safety standards, and ready for emergency use.

Scope

The scope encompasses:

• Service and repair of various fire fighting equipment including fire extinguishers (gas, powder, and other types), hose reels, hydrants, and related fire safety devices at designated sites.
• Delivery and installation of fire extinguishers and related equipment where needed.
• Routine maintenance, testing, and certification of fire safety equipment.
• Provision of necessary consumables, parts, and gas for refilling and repairs.
• Travel and logistical support for servicing multiple locations listed in the tender documentation.
• Adherence to safety and quality standards as specified in the tender and relevant regulations.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements include:

• Provision of qualified technicians with relevant experience in fire safety equipment maintenance.
• Use of approved and certified parts, gases, and materials for repairs and refills.
• Compliance with all applicable safety standards, regulations, and manufacturer specifications.
• Provision of certification and documentation for all serviced equipment, confirming operational status and compliance.
• Adherence to the scheduled maintenance plan and timely response to service requests.
• Proper record-keeping of service activities, parts used, and certifications issued.
• Availability of emergency call-out services for urgent repairs.

Skills Requirements

The successful tenderer must demonstrate:

• Experience in servicing and repairing fire fighting equipment, preferably in a government or municipal context.
• Qualified personnel with relevant technical certifications and training in fire safety equipment.
• Knowledge of applicable standards such as SANS 1036 and other relevant safety and compliance regulations.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and generate certification reports.
• Capacity to handle multiple sites efficiently, including logistical planning and resource management.
