Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint three (3) service providers to supply Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and uniforms to five SANBI centres located in different regions of South Africa. The service providers will deliver PPE and uniforms as and when required during the 2026/2027 financial year, ensuring the safety and uniformity of staff across the specified botanical gardens.

Scope

The scope of the tender includes:

• Provision of PPE and uniforms to five SANBI centres: Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, Karoo Desert National Botanical Garden, Harold Porter National Botanical Garden, Hantam National Botanical Garden, and Kwelera National Botanical Garden.
• Delivery of specified PPE items such as overalls, safety boots, gloves, helmets, goggles, masks, and other safety equipment according to detailed specifications provided in Annexure A.
• Supply of uniforms including jackets, trousers, T-shirts, and other apparel as per the specifications.
• Adherence to operational conditions, including timely delivery and compliance with safety standards.
• Provision of pricing based on a detailed breakdown in Annexure B.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements are detailed in Annexure A and include specifications for each PPE and uniform item, such as:

• Two-piece overall (poly/cotton or denim), with specified sizes and features.
• Safety boots with steel toe caps and anti-slip soles.
• Protective gloves, helmets with visors, goggles, and chainsaw chaps for specific safety needs.
• Waterproof gumboots, dust masks, respirators, shin guards, and reusable household gloves.
• All items must meet safety standards, be durable, and suitable for outdoor and industrial use.

Skills Requirements

The skills and capabilities required from the service providers include:

• Experience in supplying PPE and uniforms to large organizations or government entities.
• Ability to meet technical specifications and quality standards as outlined in Annexure A.
• Efficient logistics and delivery capabilities to supply five different centres across various regions.
• Compliance with health and safety regulations and standards.
• Capacity to provide competitive pricing and detailed quotations as per Annexure B.
• Proven track record of reliability, timely delivery, and quality assurance.
