Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to appoint three (3) service providers to supply Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and uniforms to seven SANBI centres as and when required during the 2026/2027 financial year. The service aims to ensure the timely provision and distribution of PPE and uniforms to support operational needs across various SANBI locations, including the Lowveld, KwaZulu-Natal, Free State, Pretoria, Mokopane, Thohoyandou, and other associated centres.

Scope

The scope of this tender includes:

• Provision of PPE and uniforms to seven SANBI centres: FSNBG, KZNNBG, LNBG, NZG, MBCC, MCNR, and TNBG.
• Delivery of specified PPE items such as overalls, safety boots, T-shirts, gloves, helmets, chainsaw chaps, dust masks, respirators, shin guards, and gumboots.
• Supply of uniforms according to detailed specifications provided in Annexure A.
• Pricing to be inclusive of all costs (VAT, transport, labour, etc.) with fixed rates for the contract duration.
• Additional items not listed in Annexure A may be requested, with quotations provided upon request.

Technical Requirements

The technical specifications for PPE and uniforms are detailed in Annexure A and include:

• Two-piece overall (poly/cotton or denim), with specified sizes and colours.
• Safety boots with steel toe caps resistant to 200J, available in various sizes.
• T-shirts with rib tape, available in multiple sizes and colours.
• Protective gloves, chainsaw chaps, helmets with visors and earmuffs, safety glasses, and ear muffs.
• Gumboots, dust masks, respirators with filters, shin guards, household reusable gloves, and other safety accessories.

All PPE must meet safety standards, including CE certification, and be suitable for the operational environments of the centres.

Skills and Qualification Requirements

• Proven experience in supplying PPE and uniforms to government or similar institutions.
• Ability to meet technical specifications and deliver within specified timeframes.
• Compliance with all relevant safety and quality standards.
• Capacity to provide samples of PPE items such as overalls, safety boots, gloves, helmets, and masks for approval prior to contract finalization.
• Demonstrated ability to provide competitive pricing and reliable delivery services.
• Compliance with tax and B-BBEE requirements, including submission of relevant certificates and affidavits.
