Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to engage a qualified and experienced service provider to conduct training on basic weaving machine operation, specifically covering unit standard 101384 (20 credits). The training aims to develop beneficiaries' skills in interpreting weaving specifications, pre-production setup, operating and monitoring weaving machines, and identifying and rectifying deviations to ensure quality standards are met.

Scope

The scope includes:

• Developing and delivering a comprehensive training program over a period of ten (10) days for twenty beneficiaries.
• Provision of training materials, manuals, and accredited certificates.
• Outsourcing 30% of the training costs to local designers for skills transfer.
• Covering costs for training manual, materials, assessment reports, certificates, and catering (breakfast and lunch).
• Supplying necessary equipment and supplies such as loom frames, wool yarn, weaving needles, scissors, tape measures, weaving combs, masking tape, glue, flip charts, and marking pens.
• Monitoring and evaluation of the training process.

Technical Requirements

The technical requirements specify that:

• The service provider must be registered with SAQA under the Fibre Processing & Manufacturing SETA (FP&MSETA) accreditation.
• The training must include the development of documentation, training manuals, and assessment reports.
• The provider must outsource 30% of the costs to local designers.
• Training outcomes include understanding weaving specifications, machine setup, operation, monitoring, and deviation correction.
• Provision of accredited certificates upon successful completion.
• The provider must cover training manual, training materials, certificates, assessment reports, and catering.
• Use of equipment such as loom frames, wool yarn, needles, scissors, and other weaving supplies as specified.

Skills Requirements

The successful service provider must demonstrate:

• Proven experience in conducting textile or weaving training programs.
• Registration and accreditation with SAQA for unit standard 101384.
• Ability to develop and deliver training manuals and assessment reports.
• Capacity to outsource 30% of the training costs to local designers for skills transfer.
• Competence in training twenty beneficiaries over ten days, ensuring practical and theoretical knowledge transfer.
• Ability to monitor training progress and evaluate outcomes effectively.
• Provision of accredited certificates and comprehensive assessment reports.
