Objectives

The primary objective of this tender is to engage a service provider to deliver accredited training for working at heights. The training aims to ensure that municipal employees and relevant personnel are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to work safely in elevated positions, complying with occupational health and safety standards as mandated by legislation and municipal policies.

Scope

The scope includes providing accredited training based on specific unit standards under the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA ID 229994 / 120362) and the National Certificate: Explain and Perform Fall Arrest Techniques when working at Heights (SAQA ID). The training will be conducted for groups of 10 learners, with the services commencing upon contract signing and potentially extending as per agreement. The service provider must also supply necessary training materials, assessments, and proof of compliance with SETA requirements (LGSETA / HWSETA).

Technical Requirements

• Provision of accredited training on working at heights, aligned with SAQA standards and unit standards specified.
• Training to include practical assessments, such as the maintenance of working platforms, ladders, scaffolds, and walkways in elevated positions.
• Training must be completed within 1 month of course end date, with certification issued accordingly.
• The service provider shall provide training materials, lunch, and proof of SETA accreditation.
• Training sessions must adhere to safety standards, with proof of scope to train and sign-off for safety compliance.
• Pricing must be valid for at least 30 days from the closing date.

Skills Requirements

• Proven experience in delivering accredited health and safety training related to working at heights.
• Ability to provide training aligned with SAQA unit standards and national certificates.
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation and municipal safety policies.
• Capability to assess learners and issue valid certificates of competence.
• Experience working with SETA accreditation bodies (LGSETA / HWSETA).
• Strong organizational and logistical skills to manage training groups and documentation.
